"AI is Not Only a Business Opportunity but a Societal One" - Senior UK Delegation Open Singapore Office
We have officially launched our Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore, signalling our intent to deliver more game-changing solutions for some of the nation’s most valuable enterprises
For the opening of our APAC office, we welcomed a senior UK delegation including Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service Sir Chris Wormald KCB; Cat Little CB, Chief Operating Officer for the Civil Service and Permanent Secretary to the Cabinet Office; and Nik Mehta OBE, British High Commissioner to Singapore.
We also welcomed representatives from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) to our new office for a demonstration of how we build and deploy AI solutions to solve some of the biggest challenges for enterprise customers, and redefine industries.
"Tomoro’s expansion into Singapore exemplifies how businesses from across the UK are leading the technological revolution, driving innovation and growth. Apart from building on the already strong partnership between our two forward-looking nations, this move demonstrates how UK AI expertise can scale through Singapore’s strategic regional position and deliver opportunity for businesses and communities on both sides of our vital partnership.” Nik Mehta OBE, British High Commissioner to Singapore

Demonstrating the Power of AI to Solve Enterprise Challenges
At the opening, Tomoro Co-founders Albert Phelps and Ash Garner showcased how the business combines deep expertise with the latest OpenAI and open source models to solve complex challenges in highly regulated industries.
- In a powerful trust and safety demo for global game-maker with millions of players, AI can detect and escalate instances of harmful language, abuse and grooming behaviours on gaming platforms, in real time, allowing human intervention to prevent it from happening again.
- A virtual, realtime concierge capable of handling complex tasks such as planning bespoke itineraries for the trip of a lifetime and autonomously rebooking disrupted flights through to reservations, airport guidance and seat reservations, all delivered with Virgin Atlantic’s signature warmth and tone.
Looking Ahead: Strengthening Partnerships in Singapore
Since establishing in Singapore in May 2025, we have tapped into a skilled talent pool, hiring locally for AI engineering, delivery and business management roles.
As we continue to expand our work with local enterprises and bring our expertise in building and scaling applied AI solutions, Singaporean organisations will improve productivity, strengthen safety and compliance, and unlock new opportunities for growth.
“Our move into Singapore underlines our belief that AI is not only a business opportunity but a societal one. Together with our clients, we are building a world where technology empowers people to achieve more, with greater balance in their lives. We’re proud to bring our approach to one of the most forward-looking enterprise markets in the world,” said Albert Phelps, Co-Founder of Tomoro and Singapore Lead.
The opening also marks an important step in strengthening the innovation partnership between the UK and Singapore, creating more opportunities for collaboration in the safe and effective adoption of AI.
